If you require regulatory approval or a development consent for construction, the likelihood is that you or your contractor will be required to prepare a site specific Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP). A CEMP should consider all of the relevant environmental legislation which is applicable to the site in question. A CEMP should also detail all of the controls which a given development will implement as part of the environmental management for a project. The environmental constraints and subsequent control measures should be identified on an environmental control map (ECM).
If you are the operator of a process with the potential to cause environmental harm, you may be required by your regulator to develop and implement an “Operational Environmental Management Plan (OEMP)”. The OEMP should be site specific and consider all of the operational processes which have the potential to impact on the environment. All identified aspects of your operation with the potential to impact on the environment should have mitigation measures in place to reduce the risk of environmental impacts occurring.
At EcoQuest Environmental we are experienced in both the preparation and review of CEMPs and OEMPs across multiple industry sectors and we would be happy to assist you with all aspects of EMP development.
